Transition Fort Collins is organizing a weekend training workshop on June 16th and 17th “designed for people working on the transition to a more resilient local community.” For more information concerning this training, click on the “Training for Transition” link on the right hand side of our homepage.
FCSG believes that this is an important event, and recognizes that the $150 registration fee presents a barrier to many people who would otherwise be interested in attending. We are therefore offering three full scholarships for the workshop.

The tiered residential electric rate ordinance recently given initial approval by the Fort Collins City Council will keep annual bill increases below wholesale cost inflation for most customers. It will do this while encouraging conservation and discouraging excessive energy use. Unfortunately, the Coloradoan’s coverage of this story (11/22/11) focused on summer bills of customers using significantly more energy than average to suggest that huge increases are in store for many area residents.
